During the 2026 World Cup, a petition calling for Argentina to be banned from future tournaments gathered more than 23 million signatures. Whatever you think of the demand, what did FIFA do?
Nothing. It didn't have to.
When the news cycle ended, the campaign disappeared: those 23 million people had no way to stay connected, no way to get further involved, and no organisation to carry the work forward.
That petition was one controversy in a decade of them. A peace prize invented for the host country's head of state. Host nations chosen without a real contest. Ticket pricing that drew subpoenas from two US attorneys general. Supporters and officials turned away at the border. A plan to sell a stake in the World Cup, which UEFA's 55 members voted to boycott.
It doesn't have to be this way.

We already have the power
Supporters pay football's bills. We buy tickets and shirts, pay to watch, and give sponsors an audience worth reaching. Our money pays the players, the coaches, the referees, everyone who works at the clubs, and the pitches they all play on.
Acting alone, our power is fragmented, and FIFA sets the direction of our game while we pay for it.
When millions of us organise, then tens of millions, then billions, we set the game's direction.
Football becomes ours again, run for the people who love it and not for the enrichment of FIFA's executives. We saw a glimpse of it in 2015, when organised pressure from prosecutors and sponsors ended Sepp Blatter's reign.
This time, the pressure comes from supporters, sustained for as long as it takes.
What we'll build
Reform FIFA organises the people who love football into a force FIFA can't ignore.
The strategy has three stages:
01 Build the community. Sign up the supporters who want FIFA reformed, and keep them connected.
02 Fund the project. Small donations build the organisation, so we answer to supporters and no one else.
03 Build the Pressure Platform. Develop and share the tools and resources, innovating and executing campaigns together with the global community of supporters.
How we arm the community
Reform FIFA builds and maintains the foundation, the tools, and the processes that everything runs on. We have a focused core team, and we work with the community to implement all programs.
From there we execute and innovate together, borrowing a proven model from open source software projects. Some of us will organise, some will investigate, some will build the tools and programmes we all use, some will advocate and amplify the pressure.
Everything is shared, anyone can improve it, and the people who contribute most are recognised and rewarded.
This is how the billions of us who love football become a force FIFA can't ignore.
Where we start
The community, the funding, and the platform described here don't exist yet.
The first job is proving that enough supporters want them to. Signing up registers you, keeps you connected, and brings the next stage closer.
Right now we're building the list. When there are enough of us, we fund the work. Then FIFA faces something it has never faced before.
